Electronic Components

Nobody likes it when their TV won’t turn on or their stereo system makes everyone sound like Bob Dylan. But our customers like it when our factory-trained technicians repair their equipment effectively, efficiently and carefully so they can get back to life—and catch the next Survivor.

We’ve been doing audio/video repair since the 1970s and have served Central Oregon for nearly 40 years. We also stand behind our work and offer pick-up and delivery for those larger-than-backseat items, such as big screens and in-home installation and setup.

What do we repair?

We repair LCD, plasma, DLP, laser view and CRT (aka traditional “tube”) TVs. And that’s just for starters. We also offer ISF calibrations, alignment, calibration, diagnostics and lamp replacements for DLP and LCD projection TVs.

   Pro  and  Consumer  Audio:

We work on everything from no-frills consumer pieces to audiophile and professional equipment, including audio-video receivers, per-amplifiers, amplifiers, processors, sub-woofers, speakers, digital transports like CD players, DAT, etc., cassette players, reel-to-reel audio, turntables, guitar amplifiers, vintage and pro tube audio, wireless systems, mixers. Even the occasional 8-track for all those Barry Manilow favorites.

We service pro-sumer and professional camcorders, including hard drive, flash memory, digital tape, 8mmdigital, VHS, VHSC and digital 8, doing everything from cleanings to repairing dropped camcorders to replacing the heads.

We offer cleanings, routine maintenance, and repair of VCRs, DVD players, DVRs and DVD/TV combo units.

In the “Doesn’t Hurt to Ask” category, we repair a variety of other electronics, such as hot tub boards, HVAC and pellet stove circuit boards, specialty automotive modules, backup cameras and key chain remotes.  We also offer repair of expensive or unavailable parts, saving you the cost of a new board or the frustration of an unavailable or obsolete board.

What’s in a name? Plenty. The Electronics Shop has not only met stringent requirements to be an authorized center for most major brands, we work on nearly every brand imaginable, namely:

  • Sony
  • Sharp
  • LG
  • Mitsubishi
  • Toshiba
  • Sanyo
  • Pioneer
  • Hitachi
  • Samsung
  • Vizio
  • Panasonic
  • Westinghouse

  • Canon
  • Marantz
  • Fisher
  • Philips
  • Denon
  • Onkyo
  • Integra
  • Yamaha
  • JVC
  • Zenith

    First things first.

So what do you do if you need a piece of equipment repaired? Just bring it in, and we’ll diagnose the problem and call you with an estimate. You’ll pay a diagnostic fee of $35-$50 (depending on the item) when you drop off your unit, which is applied toward the repair if you decide to proceed. There are no set prices for repair; every unit is individually diagnosed and repaired, usually down to the component level to keep it as cost-effective as possible.
